Nigeria’s Yankari Games Reserves put safety measures in place as it opens for Sallah festive season
The management of Nigeria’s Yankari Games Reserve has said it has put in place all necessary safety measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19 as it prepares open for the this year’s Sallah celebration.
The management in a statement said the game reserve will be opened during the Sallah festive season to enable members of the public to celebrate the event at the reserve.
It said compulsory body temperature checks with infrared thermometers will be carried out at the main entrance of the reserve, complete disinfection of the entire reserve visitors area and mandatory hand washing with water and soap, as well as hand sanitizers.
It said: “Our guests will also be required to adhere strictly to the use of facial masks and observe social distancing protocols as stipulated by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). We welcome you as you come to Yankari to experience the peaceful aura of nature.”
The management however stated that the games reserve is only opened to Bauchi residents due to the interstate lockdown imposed by the federal government to curb the spread of the disease.
