General Manager, Park Inn By Radisson Lagos, Rita Opiah Wins Africa Travel 100 Women Award
The General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Serviced Apartments Lagos, Rita Opiah has won the coveted Africa Travel 100 Women Award which recognises exceptional women in the travel and tourism sector.
Rita Opiah, is fast becoming a hospitality veteran with nearly two decades of quality experience in the industry. Rita joined the Radisson Hotel Group in 2018, leading one of the swiftest transitioning and opening projects by the Group in Africa. In her current role as General Manager, she oversees daily operations and executive management of a team with well over a hundred employees, as well as the rollout of a multi-million-naira revamp and upgrade program which is well underway.
Ongoing renovations at the Serviced Apartments will modernize the 56-room property including 4 suits, a swimming pool, event hall facilities, meeting rooms, and an upgraded restaurant with bar. Rita Opiah is charged with carrying out a new and expanded vision for the future of the Lagos premier business hub property.
Prior to her current role, Rita began her journey in the hospitality industry as a warm and enthusiastic Receptionist at Victoria Crown Plaza in 2007. In furthering her career, Rita joined Protea Hotels in 2009, wherein her skills were recognized and honed.
She swiftly moved up the ranks, being promoted from a Reservationist to the Sales and Marketing team as a Manager. Rita was effective in her sales role, leading marketing efforts for the hotel within a competitive and expanding market.
During her progressive career, Rita Opiah also took on a leading role at the Marriott Hotels prior to becoming Deputy General Manager at Bon Hotels. Through her years of service, she has become an asset to the Park Inn by Radisson brand, making her the first Nigerian Female to occupy her current role of General Manager within the hotel group.
Rita holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a master’s degree in International Relations from the prestigious University of Lagos.
